Insane redirect?
editWhy on earth is phosphorous pointing to Phosphorous acid? It should point to the article on the element, Phosphorous.
- My take on it is that redirects from misspellings, though useful, are subordinate to legitimate meanings of the word. Our redirect structure should not presume that people can't spell. I would allow that there's room for reasonable disagreement on this point, but I just find it a bit, I don't like to overuse this word, but almost offensive to redirect-from-misspelling when we can instead use a target based on what the word actually means.
- (Just in case you weren't aware, the correct spelling for the element is phosphorus. Writing phosphorous for the element is not an alternative spelling; it's a flat spelling error.) --Trovatore (talk) 23:52, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
