Redirect, merge, add sources or what?
edit@HJ Mitchell, Wikishovel, MSGJ, and Materialscientist: I saw this appear in NPP as a new page. My first reaction was to draftify, but the editor who removed the redirect (@Cheezy Chess) was permanently banned today. Hence there is no point in suggesting that they improve the article. Should we:
- Revert to the redirect
- Keep, but then someone will need to add sources.
- Something else, e.g. try WT:PHYS?

- Addendum: it seems that @Skynxnex decided on Option 1 above without checking for concensus or (perhaps) the talk page. I have no bone to pick here, but I do think it is appropriate to get opinions first since the redirect does not contain much useful content on phototransistors. Diodes and transistors are definitely different, so there was some rationale to changing from a redirect to an article (ignoring whatever else took place). - I have no objection to another action if it's been discussed and/or well-sourced. I partly reverted to the redirect since the redirect target has no space but the redirect that was expanded has a space, which is often a sign (but not always) of evasion of some kind. - Adding ping to @Ldm1954, as I was pinged. And apologies for not noticing your comment here before restoring the redirect. Skynxnex (talk) 13:18, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
