Phytobia betulae
- ... that the tunnel made by the larva of a small fly inside a birch tree may reach 17 m (56 ft)? Source: "Adults of P. betulae are 4 - 5 mm long." and "Larval tunnels can be extremely long (17 m)."
- ALT1 ... that the fly Phytobia betulae is just 5 mm (0.2 in) long but the tunnel made by its larva inside a birch tree may reach 17 m (56 ft)?

- Interesting article, as all of these are to nature nerds like me. :) I'm wondering if some more direct comparison of the size of the larva/fly vs. the length of the tunnel might take the hook up a notch? Like 'the 4mm (.2 inch) larva of a small fly blah blah blah' or something? I definitely think the tunnel length is the hook. --valereee (talk) 17:02, 5 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
- Thanks for the review. I have added ALT1. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:46, 5 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
- Cwmhiraeth, I really like that! I'm approving both, with a preference for ALT1. --valereee (talk)
