Genetics or mythology?

edit

Is there any genetic evidence to support this story of migrating Zebu. Did Zebu even exist as a type that long ago? It sounds like a myth. --Charles (talk) 18:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

References

edit

I'd like to work on this article. Would anyone mind if at the same time I change the reference format to list-defined, which collects all the references in the References section, and switch from the current YYYY-MM-DD computer-readable date format to a human-comprehensible format such as dmy? I'll probably make these changes in a day or so unless anyone asks me not to. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 01:12, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think I created this article, and I have no problem at all with any of those suggestions. Delighted to see someone wanting to improve it! (I suppose I’d slightly prefer retaining British English.) Ian Spackman (talk) 02:08, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hypertrophy vs Hyperplasia

edit

I noticed that the article for the Belgian Blue distinguishes between hypertrophy (enlargement of muscle fibers) and hyperplasia (increase in the number of muscle fibers). Perhaps that distinction could be added here as well. This really isn't my area however so I hesitate to make the change myself...

Here is the article I found discussing some of the particulars of the myostatin gene deficiency: http://naldc.nal.usda.gov/download/120/PDF

The lede

edit

I made a few changes for clarity, and added information about the breed being used as foundation breeding stock for the North American Piedmontese cattle. It might not hurt to add a section on Crossbreeding, or Foundation breeding stock, or the like. AtsmeConsult 12:49, 23 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
