It would seem odd that Peutemans should die in 1698 of a heart attack caused by an earthquake that happened in 1692 so I guess the earthquake story is only apocryphal. This source: [1] states as to his death: "erroneously stated as deceased 18 September 1692 in Thieme/Becker 1932; buried on 18 June 1698 (Ecartico)". Proofreader (talk) 11:22, 24 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
