I proposed this for deletion and also put a notice at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Thoroughbred racing. I checked, and Pine Circle ran in the Kentucky Derby but it makes me wonder when it claims he stood at 14 hands? That means he was a pony, not a horse. Handicapper 17:36, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
My apologies, I was in error about Pine Circle's height. He was indeed a horse, not a pony. I have corrected the article to reflect a more correct height of about 15 hands. I do not have an exact height measurement for Pine Circle; however, I was the colt's groom for some time while he was under trainer Shug McGaughey's care, and I can assure you that he was indeed of small stature. Perhaps he wasn't the calibre of Thoroughbred that would qualify for the cover of Blood Horse magazine, but I think he ran at least well enough to rate an article in this forum. If it is a purpose of Wikipedia to provide a comprehensive coverage of topics, then I contend that the article on Pine Circle furthers that purpose. To wit, when I initially performed a Wikipedia search for Pine Circle, there was no information available--so, that's what prompted me to post the article. If you can offer some reasonable assurance that no one else--besides me--will ever again make such an inquiry, then I will concede to the article's deletion. Stm33 06:17, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
