Pinna is from latin.
I think there should be one article describing all these different descriptive terms for fronds. Having an article for each is kinda cumbersome. --DanielCD 01:43, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
Shouldn't this article be merged into Leaf shape, which lists all the terms that describe leaves and already has "pinnate"? It is easier for everything to be listed on one page, this article is just a definition. SCHZMO ✍ 23:10, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
On the contrary. Leaves are not the only things that are pinnate. This article should be expanded, and include more images of examples. Jusuwa 00:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Berchemia zeyheri
editI propose to remove the image of Berchemia zeyheri. This species has simple leaves. Axillary buds are visible at the base of each simple leaf in the image. There are many better images of compound leaves in Commons. Gderrin (talk) 22:44, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
Tetrapinnate
editDoes anyone have photos or diagrams of tetrapinnate leaves? These seem to be rare but apparently there are a few plants with this leaf arrangement, such as

More categories for pinnate placement
editGreetings,
There are more categories for the pinnate arrangement than this article mentions. Here is a reliable source with additional categories:
