Improving this Article...

I've removed the Guilds section, I don't think advertising guilds is appropriate for Wikipedia (no other MMORPG articles that I checked listed guilds), and it was attracting non-NPOV listings, I'd also previously cut the article down to basically a summary. Detailed info (eg what I've written below) probably isn't needed until closer to the game's release (when we might actually know some more concrete details) Mako 02:59, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

This needs a major rewrite, currently it's just a copy/paste from the game's website. I think it needs to cover:

• combat being ship based rather than avatar based
• the skill system (what we know of it anyway)
• the difference between pirate / navy / adventurer (eg valid ships)
• the nations England / France / Spain / Pirate
• PvP and conquest rules
• the ship archetypes hunter / dreadnought / scout
• FLS's overseas plans
• navigation map / combat instances

Added references reganding releasedates, spec requirements and the SOE publishing deal. I removed the 'more references' tag because the rest of the info is, as stated by the 'future release' tag, not nececarilly reliable. Secret Societies?

This section doesn't seem very relevant. There's no mention of it anywhere on the official forums, the official site, etc. If it really is that covert I don't think it rises to the level of significance needed for a wiki article. Dremac 22:56, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Minor correction

Further correction is needed. One, Delta Green is a TITLE and should be properly formatted. Two, the link to the "game of the same name" links to the article on the setting for the Call of Cthulhu RPG, not an RPG titled Delta Green. Is the MMO actually based on the CoC setting? Or is there an RPG titled Delta Green that is the basis for the held MMO? Correct. Basic fee is $15 per month, with discounts if you purchase a longer subscription time. You can also access the game using SOE's "All Access Pass", which allows you to play all of SOE's game for one flat monthly fee. --Junior612 (talk) 01:13, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Characters section confusing

The text seems to use "nations" and "nationals" as separate from "factions" but yet includes the pirates among the playable nations? Huh? And what does the problem with EU servers mean? CapnZapp (talk) 10:30, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure but I believe that refers to the old problem of only being allowed one nation per server and as all the European Servers were merged into one, this meant that European players were limited to playing in online events for one nation only and could not swap between nations without first deleting all the characters from the old nation and creating a new character for a different nation. This was unlike the situation for the US Players where they had three seperate servers thus allowing them full access to any nation they wished. This has now ended with the further merging of the servers into two thus allowing all players to have six characters per nation thus giving a player a choice of 24 characters to choose from. However the timings of online events are still unknown as one of the Servers left in the latest merge (Roberts) was the only European Server left, and it is currently unknown whether the Server will remain European, thus allowing Europeans access to the online events or an American Based Server, with events corresponding to US Timings, thus meaning that European players would find it dammned near impossible to play in online events (much like the situation was in Matrix Online).

Could someone please clarify this language...What does BUFF in this context mean, EXACTLY?

In the Pirate: Buccaneer section "...can use and collect captured ships deeds and can buff allied ships..." is the implication here that the ships can be cleaned up / repaired.... if so buff is a poor word choice. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/buff

I believe buff is to confer a temporary (time limited) combat bonus on a ship or group of ships. A player character can acquire skills that, when activated, provide combat benefits to their own or allied ships. In the quoted passage above it is ipmlied that Buccaneers can acquire skills that give combat bonuses to allied ships. I used to play the game. I believe there is a dedicated PotBS wiki that would explain the combat system and probably mention buffs... 66.129.224.36 (talk) 00:35, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Contention Kinda wondering what this line was doing here: "The player voted worst pvper in the game is cleary Jack glub glub formerly known as Jack Legend at all times you should attack him." removed it. If that Jack Legend is Jack Simple, this isn't even correct to begin with as I've fought him and he was definately above averge. Editing of Publisher information
