editThis order contains Paragonimus spp., known as the Lung Fluke. An estimated 22 million paragonimiasis cases exist worldwide. This order also contains Fasciola hepatica and Fasciolopsis buski, the Liver Fluke and Intestinal Fluke, respectively. Mainland China has an estimated 10 million cases of Fasciolopsiasis alone. Reference [1] is Eurocentric. The parasitic flukes herein are significant on other continents.
