a plank is a medieval measure, and recognised by the 16th century to be any section of sawn timber more than one INCH thick and more then three INCHES wide.

So trying to define it in metric is utter bollox, and a misdefinition.

Suggest you change it before i am forced to.

I'm not so sure that one of the pictures illustrating this article is really a picture of a plank. It's an interesting image, but I think those guys are holding a big custom-shaped artifact made of plywood layers, not a single cutting of lumber. -- WikiPedant (talk) 23:25, 21 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
