McVeigh and Padilla
editTwice recently the point in the trivia concerning McVeigh and Padilla was deleted. It is exactly the sort of interesting trivia which Plantation residents like me would be looking for when reading this article. Before removing legitimate information without explanation, please discuss here.
McVeigh/Padilla citation issues
editI have tagged four citations relating to McVeigh and Padilla because there are serious reliability issues with each of them. The first is linked to "Eye on Hate", which appears to be affiliated with a left-wing radio program. The article is unreferenced, and I am unable to find anything substantial about the author of the piece, other than her affiliation with Eye on Hate. The next one is linked to [www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1127530/posts Free Republic], which is simply a (right-wing) discussion board. (No, the left-wing bias of the first and the right-wing bias of the second don't cancel each other out; they're both still unreliable.) The last two citations are both to essays on Rotten.com, with no attributions of authorship and no citations. Rotten.com is not a site that should ever be used for factual verification. I will leave the citations in place (with the vc tags) for a week; that should give concerned editors time to find reliable sources for the information. After that, I'll delete whole thing along with the references. Despite the above protestations, the information is not well-sourced. Horologium t-c 20:06, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I waited almost two months, and nobody bothered to find better sources, so I removed the whole section. Horologium (talk)
RS issue - visit James Randi?
editAnyone from the Plantation/Miami area willing to go visit James Randi and take pictures of his awards and honors and post 'em to commons to be used as reliable primary sources? There's been a LOT of edit warring to remove/restore content that lists Randi's awards and honors. Head here if you're interested. Some editors are insisting that http://web.randi.org/about-james-randi.html is not a reliable source. User:Ebyabe? --Elvey(t•c) 21:21, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Picture Added
edit- Hi,
I added a small picture under "Geography" and hopefully, it is relevant to this article because I do see an importance to the picture. –Yanjipy (Talk) 22:23 13 July 2018 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Lago Mar Country Club
editThis golf course does not meet the notability guidelines. WP:NPLACE. However, it should be moved to Plantation, Florida because this course has existed for over 40 years. – Yanjipy (talk) 23:48, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- A new section called "Golf courses" should also be added because there are a few golf courses in Plantation. Thanks – Yanjipy (talk) 23:50, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Yanjipy, as suggested, the article now includes a section for Golf and country clubs. The content from the Lago Mar article, including its references, picture, etc. have been included in this new section, so the Lago Mar article should now be ready for deletion; however, much of the content was promotional material, the only source for which was the club's own website, which does not meet Wikipedia standards; therefore, only the compliant content has been kept, along with some newly-researched references. Thank you. IAmTheNeil (talk) 22:13, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you IAmTheNeil, it took a while for a response but I'm glad this was considered. Cheers. – Yanjipy (talk) 02:08, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- No problem, Yanjipy, do you need anything further in order to remove the Lago Mar Country Club article and close this item out? IAmTheNeil (talk) 18:05, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you IAmTheNeil, it took a while for a response but I'm glad this was considered. Cheers. – Yanjipy (talk) 02:08, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
