The article is called plasmin, but the template is about the gene product, plasminogen, and angiostatin, which is produced from plasmin, is not mentioned.. maybe the article needs some reogranization. --CopperKettle 14:31, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

editTRANEXAMIC ACID (LYSTEDA) is a new drug approved by the FDA to treat cyclic heavy menstrual bleeding and its mechanism of action is to prevent plasminogen conversion to plasmin. It therefore acts as a antifibrinolytic. Marketing ads tout this as a non-hormonal way to treat cyclic heavy menstrual bleeding but it poses serious risks of blood clots, especially in women using hormonal contraceptives, and for this reason it is contraindicated in that group.
