The Itera's weight
editI wonder how much a full Itera plastic bicycle, fully assembled, weighs. Could someone please add the answer to the article? Cheers, Unforgettableid (talk) 07:37, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
1971 plastic bike
editI remember reading about it (I was 9) in bicycle guide or some other $3 bicycle buying guide on the magazine rack. The weight was 13 lbs, not 11 lbs, I am pretty sure, and there is a picture. We should try to get the picture for this article. I think it was either entirely red, or black & white, the picture. It was in the configuration of 10 speed and the handlebars were very badly adjusted, pointing upwards. SystemBuilder (talk) 07:33, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
Carbon Fiber
editAren’t modern high performance Carbon Fiber bikes technically plastic bicycles as well? --77.190.193.206 (talk) 10:34, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
- I agree, this article is incomplete as it ignores the fact that carbon fibre led to the advent of successful, mainstream plastic bicycles. Stub Mandrel (talk) 15:57, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
Carbon-fibre reinforced plastic is not "technically plastic". It is technically a composite material. It is no more plastic than iron is steel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.214.213.146 (talk) 02:56, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
