If you play any of the songs from this album with speeches from Martin Luther King Jr., they go together eerily well (for instance, compare watching The Wizard of Oz while listening to Dark Side of the Moon).

If you listen to this album while eating broccoli, a solar eclipse will occur.

Gwen Stefani

edit

The Gwen Stefani remix of "Southside" was not on the B-Sides album, it was only released as a single. -Comrade S. 23:12, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Every song is licensed"

edit

Although I don't find this claim difficult to believe, verifying it has been somewhat difficult. Even the Moby entry that includes a list of licensed songs fails to list where every song on the album is used. Kevin 06:32, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • More than that, I went through the relevant entries and album listings for the three acts claimed to have achieved the same feat (Celldweller, Meiko, and The Crystal Method), and I haven't found this mentioned there; based on my familiarity with the group's music, I think the most likely TCM album to have all of its tracks licensed would be Tweekend but I haven't found any mention of such a thing. FWIW the edits adding in this information were all made in the spring of 2011, and the first one left out Meiko. Julyo (talk) 05:12, 16 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I wonder if someone could verify this somehow? Ozwebfx 06:58, 3 December 2006 (UTC)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ozwebfx (talkcontribs) 06:58, 3 December 2006 (UTC).Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Moby play.JPG

edit

Image:Moby play.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:08, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Genre

edit

Changed the genre from House, Electronica to just Electronica, as I think it's a better description - ZEROpumpkins (talk) 03:45, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

South Side: The "original" version

edit

The original version was re-released on the U.S. edition of Moby's Go: The Very Best of Moby compilation. The article is extremely inaccurate here: South Side's first recording, according to the separate single article, WAS with Gwen Stefani, it was just dropped by Moby. So it is not clear what the "original" version is, can be misinterpreted easily that way. -andy 91.8.153.8 (talk) 19:08, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Recoil connection

edit

There should really be a link here to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloodline_(album), which Moby appears on, & which likely inspired the use of "recycled" vocals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.179.242.40 (talk) 03:06, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This article is somewhat biased, I think

edit

I really don't feel that this article was written from a neutral point of view. It seems to praise it too much.

Discussion of recent edits

edit

There are several things wrong with the album ratings section:

  • There should be no more than 10 ratings listed (see here)
  • The citations for the ratings are in bare URL format

Added The Beach by Danny Boyle as it used Porcelain in possibly the best film/music match ever made, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.25.117.170 (talk) 13:51, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Best selling independent album in the uk 2000?

edit

I find this not really important or necessarly.

Because everyone knows that independent albums are not selling so much. But this album sold nearly 1,9 million copies in the uk and therefore i would not place this sentence here.

It was one of the best selling albums of the 2000s — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.111.57.236 (talk) 07:35, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Copyvio

edit

The first five paragraphs after the lede are pretty much copied from RollingStone, [1]. It wouldn't be a bad thing to ease down the Cinderella theme anyway. trespassers william (talk) 01:32, 31 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Samples

edit

I recently heard in a radio feature that Moby used the samples from the Lomax recordings without permission of Lomax or others and that a lot of people were not happy about it, because this spiritual deep recordings were used for Mobys light mainstream billboard music. This should be also mentioned in my opinion to give this article a well balance. 178.6.15.15 (talk) 14:02, 1 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
