Playgirl (disambiguation)Playgirl — The magazine is not the primary topic worldwide. Per WP:Systemic bias, the disambig page should be the primary topic. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 12:00, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Interesting claim... it's essentially a four-way DAB, between the magazine, the Japanese TV series together with its film spinoff, and two earlier films, 1932 and 1941, neither of which seem particularly notable, no awards or award nominations listed in the relevant articles for example. I doubt anyone would claim that the 1932 and 1941 films could compete with the magazine to be primary topic, so I guess the claim is that the Japanese TV series etc does, and the mention of worldwide above seems to support this. Evidence? Andrewa (talk) 18:53, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

That would be contrary to guidance on the placement of disambiguation pages. That is, if there is no article at Playgirl and Playgirl redirects to the disambiguation page, then the disambiguation page should be at Playgirl. olderwiser 22:29, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that is basically what I am saying I'm in favor of (ie., as described at WP:Disambig).Wikiscient (talk) 22:42, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Then you don't actually oppose moving Playgirl (disambiguation)Playgirl. olderwiser 23:18, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • I second Andrewa's request for evidence. Is there any evidence that the Japanese productions are known to any extent in the English-language world comparable to that of the magazine? olderwiser 22:29, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Even if the magazine is not well known world-wide, the other uses are no better off, meaning the magazine is still the primary topic. Powers T 20:17, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Disambiguation is about navigation. If a million people search for "Playgirl" looking for the magazine, and a thousand people search for "Playgirl" looking for another usage, it doesn't matter if the million people are all American and the thousand people are all Japanese; what matters is that it's a million vs. a thousand. That's not a pro-American bias. (Also note that WP:Systemic bias is an essay and not a guideline or policy.) Propaniac (talk) 18:31, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose The magazine is clearly primary. --JaGatalk 18:37, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
