Merge to Podporuchik

• Support. I think the article can describe the usage of this term in Polish and Russian militaries.   • Please explain the advantage of having Polish and Russian militaries described in one page. Completely different subjects and obviously plenty of nontrivial info. There is a large article pl:Podporucznik. If you have nothing better to do then go and start merging Iosif with Jozef, Konstanty and Konstantin, Maciej and Matvey, Szczepan and Stepan, etc., etc. Staszek Lem (talk) 05:01, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

    Staszek Lem, I don't see how the same rank in different Slavic countries is separately notable.     It is the "same" rank in name only. Each country has its own regulations (probably unified across NATO, though, but not all Slavic states are in NATO. Lembit Staan (talk) 19:57, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

• Support merge; there is already more information on the Polish rank at Podporuchik than there is at Podporucznik. That page is also not exclusively Russian, but Slavophone. If yoo look the the lede of Podporuchik, you'll see that the issue of equivalence is nos a simple as you think. This article is good as a summary, but details must be detailed in separate pages, otherwise there will be lots of confusion. Lembit Staan (talk) 20:05, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

• Support merge; similar ranks with similar names, easy to have subsections differentiating between different nations. Just as has been done with Poruchik [Lieutenant (Eastern Europe)], Polkovnik [Colonel (Eastern Europe)] and Podpolkovnik [Lieutenant colonel (Eastern Europe)].
