Merger proposal

I'm proposing merging podzolization into this article. The text there is pretty bad, and the process of forming podzols fits naturally into this article. Tdslk (talk) 05:25, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply


I was under the impression that podzolization broadly refers to the leaching of nutrient downwards through the soil, but will not necessarily give rise to podzolic soil. The podzolization article should focus more on the mechanisms by which this can occur and changes that result, differentiating it from this article. Though they have the same characteristics, this article needs to clearly deliniate the situations and circles in which the terms "podzol, podsol, and spodosol" are used and not keep using them interchagibly throughout the article. Siltloam (talk) 20:51, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
