Some comments

Cant help myself ;-) You may want to look into adding about the Poestenkill Gorge (where the High Falls are) and the legend of the Native American who "kidnapped" a white girl and "married" her and hid out in a cave there along with some history of the various mills. You may want to talk about the gorge in the geography section. There are so many beautiful dams that today create lakes and waterfalls of their own you may want pictures of them too, Lake Ida behind the Stewarts at 2 and 66, with several very old dams along the Poesten kill within walking distance of there.

• It would be tresspassing technically but there's a great waterfall on par with the ones you have pictures of (I think its called Fred's Hole or something like that?) out past Tamarac schools on Route 2, driving east there's an old abandoned bridge on the left past where the falls are, if you park there and walk over the bridge and follow the paths back the way you came you'll reach after about a 2 or 3 minute walk the top of the falls. I dont know if kids still go there and jump off the waterfall, but I went there once when I was 17 (all for a girl of course). If you cant get there that way there should be an official looking town-owned building before you get to the bridge, it sits (I believe) roughly right before where the falls and there should be a path from it to the bottom of the falls.Camelbinky (talk) 01:44, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
  • I've done my fair share of jumping at Fred's (in fact I've been kicked out a fair number of times); that, technically, is on the Quacken Kill, though it will get a mention. I'm using Poesten Kill as my major source and then I just found the NRHP nom for the Poesten Kill Gorge Historic District, which discusses the old mills and dams down by High Falls. There's a link for South Troy which goes to Troy, New York#Neighborhoods; but there is no such section on that article... are you planning on making one or did you think that it already existed? I can start on that section for you if you'd like.Camelbinky (talk) 01:39, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

I just assumed there was a section. If you have the time, feel free to start the section. I'm feeling split; I really want to start bringing Troy up to snuff, but it means putting Brunswick on the back burner again. And the history section of Troy will be in depth if I want to do it right (and most likely require a break off History of Troy, New York, similar to the break off I'm working on for Brunswick). I feel your pain! There are so many articles that I want to work on just because it would be fun to learn about them while doing the research for them, then there are articles that need to be finished because they are terrible. Oh, home computer is kaputz, so I might not be on much since I'll be using work computer only, will continue to do my best though.Camelbinky (talk) 22:19, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

If you come back to working on this (and I hope you do because its really interesting!) this may be useful even though it is a blog, I think it could at least point you to other sources or lead you to search in directions you otherwise wouldnt have known to look (I find blogs very useful for that).
