editThe lede of the article doesn't explain who the individual is, notably this is hardly Gandhi or Mandela. And is a separate article needed, wouldn't the view of Long fit better in the article on him? --Soman (talk) 00:12, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
- It just didn't fit well. And I am aware that he is not as notable as Gandhi or Mandela, but he is still level-5 vital. I am planning on coming back to this article and expanding it soon. ~ HAL333 18:39, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- He is probably the most notable U.S. governor ever of a non revolutionary or Civil War era state who never held the presidency. I am of the opinion that in the United States schoolchildren learn more about Long than they do Gandhi or Mandela--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 17:56, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Well, Wikipedia isn't an exclusively US platform, and articles should be written in a way that makes them accessible to a global audience. --Soman (talk) 17:59, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

Delete/Rename the Section "Conservatism and Nationalism"
editThe section on "Conservatism and Nationalism" is trying to portray Long as a conservative, but that idea goes against not only the general consensus (that Long was a left-wing populist, which was discussed a while ago on the main Huey Long talk page and I don't believe the consensus has changed) but is based on original research. The only academic source cited is Williams, and while he did call Long a nationalist, he overall put Long on the left and certainly never labeled him a conservative. Unless there's a very good objection I think it should be deleted, or at least renamed to "Nationalism" with the first paragraph deleted. SDYB-WNRTC (talk) 19:50, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
