editIs the picture really useful? I mean, couldn't we get a picture of the Governor-General or the Prime Minister instead? john k 05:34, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I've replaced it with a picture of Patterson, who is surely a more important figure in Jamaican politics. john k 05:36, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Golding isn't the PM (yet)
editWhile it seems Golding's party has won the election he does not become Prime Minister until he's sworn in by the Governor-General. Please don't jump the gun! Also, the current PM is refusing to concede defeat according to press reports so it's possible she will continue as PM until her party is defeated by a vote of confidence in the Jamaican parliament or, more likely, until the recounts are completed. If and when she does concede Golding becomes Prime Minister-designate until he is sworn in. Reginald Perrin 00:18, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Important notice
editThe government section of the "Outline of Jamaica" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.
When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.
Please check that this country's outline is not in error.
