I suggest we merged this article with the main article on Colonel. Whatever its name or etymology is in various languages, it's basically still the same grade. And wiki is not a dictionary. Halibutt 04:17, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- see Talk:Colonel for merger discussion. mikka (t) 04:24, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- In the end, Polkovnik is the russian translation for Colonel. There were conserns that Polkovnik article would include a significant amount of information that is specific to Russia, but it seems that the conserns were overstated.
- Please also check Senior Colonel article, which already has "Soviet colonel" incorporated into it. Anonymous, 05:50, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- OK, withdrawn. Halibutt 13:49, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- (another user) Please, change the Cyrilic form of Polkovnik without Slovenia in it. Slovenia has NO CYRILIC writing.Slovenia should be putt next to the description of rank of Polkovnik without the Cyrilic writing. It is exceptionaly shameful for you to make such mistakes. Slovenians are extremely allergic to this. (T.G.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.61.54.12 (talk) 23:00, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
