polyene has potential usage as electron/charge conductor. it is the main structure of the bridge between electron donor and acceptor.

Why are polyenes of interest
editWhy are they studied as a class ? From the references it seems to be because they are a basis for drug development. Perhaps in the lead we could say what motivates them being considered an interesting class (eg distinct from the dienes with just 2 double bonds). - Rod57 (talk) 17:23, 30 September 2018 (UTC)
