"Poly Filler", from "polyester filler", is a common name for gunk that you use to fill in cracks in buildings, furniture, etc. I've always assumed the web API shims were named after the gunk. Does anyone know for certain? CWC 12:05, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

I just spent about an hour looking for a cite about the etymology, finding an authoritative statement here ... and then noticed that we already cited that article. Duh! Anyhow, we now have a properly-cited explanation of the name. Cheers, CWC 14:04, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Needs a re-evaluation and rewrite

The article had terrible tone, grammar and formatting problems, which I did my best to fix. However, checking the edit history, it seems older versions than the one I edited where much better written. I suggest someone who is familiar with the term and can cite proper sources rewrites this so that it fits in Wikipedia. 2.85.21.189 (talk) 19:02, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

WP:MULTIDABS And it seems like either there is no primary topic, or that Polyester Fiberfill would be the primary topic, since it precedes the web development usage.

1. If a Polyfill (material) page is created, should it be at Polyfill, Polyfill (material), or Polyester Fiberfill?
2. If a some kind of Polyfill (material) page is created, should the existing Polyfill page get moved to Polyfill (web development) in favor of a disambiguation page, or should Polyfill (material) be added to the hatnote, or something else?
