Description
editI added few more information about the function of polysomes, how ribosomes contribute to the synthesis of polysome, also under the Structure subheading, I did add a small section about how structure of polysomes are elucidated from mouse brain, as well as how to distinguish the three different types of polysomes. I would like to make this article to be more details and visualizing, so my suggestions to make this article to be more perfect are to add one or more pictures of polysomes to visualize easily, and any other information about the detail structure of polysome when possible, as well as how polysomes are studied differently among species.Vannguyenn (talk) 04:59, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Quality of Writing
editI have undertaken preliminary work to improve the quality of the writing on this page to increase its legibility and comprehensibility. However, further work ought to be undertaken, preferably by a specialist in the field, to both expand and improve this page.
Copyedit and Reference Verification
editI copyedited the article and fixed small grammatical mistakes such as misplaced commas and agreements. There is only one in-text citaton in the text, but several references listed at the bottom of the page. The citations are not placed after their corresponding information, making it difficult to verify the sources. This will require a rewrite, being as that many of the sources listed are textbooks and not accessible online for the general public. Gonzalezmg1 (talk) 02:33, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
DNA?
editThe illustration seems to indicate that ribosomes bind to strands of DNA. They don't. There is no DNA in the cytoplasm (barring infection with a virus or something) and no ribosomes are present in the nucleus. In any case, ribosomes don't bind to DNA. What is this illustration meant to convey? It can't be relative size, because you can't see the ends of the DNA molecule. IAmNitpicking (talk) 12:46, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
I agree with IAmNitpicking, and I took it upon myself to remove that image. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.6.56.184 (talk) 17:07, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
