"Partial Credit Model" is noted because the polytomous RM is frequently referred to by this label. However, the article is about the polytomous Rasch model, the terms of which were resolved by Andrich in a way that allowed for its application. Now, Andrich (2005) clearly defines the nature of response processes compatible with the model, and gives a detailed and explicit explanation of the reasons for the compatibility. Interpretations that are incompatible, such as those involving 'steps', thurstone thresholds, etc. should not appear in this article because the article is about the polytomous Rasch model, which preserves sufficiency and entails ordered thresholds. I would suggest that other interpretations should appear in different articles Holon 09:53, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
Winsteps, I reverted the changes. Some of the edits were fine, but you omitted referenced material without discussion or rationale. If you wish to re-instate material, please discuss objections to existing content that is removed (unless trivial, only modified for continuity, etc.). Cheers Holon 02:29, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
