Current Event?
editThere seems to be a relatively minor dispute on whether this page documents a current event. The Current Event tag has been removed twice, but the article suggests that the case was remanded to the lower court. If that's true, then there are likely still developments that will occur in this case and the Current Event tag seems appropriate. I think that the current event tag should probably stay on the article.Dekkanar 20:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Pay attention
editSome people are insisting that the Category:Microsoft criticisms and controversies be added. Note the description of the category: "Articles relating to controversies and criticisms of Microsoft's business practices and software." ... how does this article, in any way, match up with that? The action was taken by the Russian government, on their own, without prompting or co-operation from Microsoft. Have a look at the other articles in that category... they involve significant criticisms of Microsoft, as well as legal cases in which they were actively involved. -/- Warren 00:11, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Gorbachev's Letter to Gates
editIt reads very tongue-in-cheek. "Imprisonment in Siberian camps..." this is playing on Westerners' stereotypes of what Siberia is. Every time I read it it sounds just sarcastic, as if Gorbachev (who sold his own country) is trying to make the defendant, and the rest of the population by proxy, seem downtrodden and pathetic. (And what kind of serious personal letter is presented in a newspaper, anyway?)
Aside from being a silly publicity thing, this letter didn't have any effect on the affair. If nobody presents a serious objection to this, I'll remove it. 70.59.150.74 (talk) 07:53, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
December 19 the Perm krai court overturned earlier decisions and pledged Ponosov not guilty
