Popular (The Weeknd, Playboi Carti and Madonna song)Popular (The Weeknd and Madonna song) – This was reverted for no reason as Amakuru said that all artists are credited equally. However, this is not the case as I have provided a source for this and can add more if needed. Playboi Carti is a featured artist as per streaming services and chart credits, so his name does not go in the disambiguator. Amakuru provided a reason. You need to initiate a full fledged RM on the article's talk page if you feel that the current title doesn't fit in very much. ─ The Aafī (talk) 13:23, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think we can declare this request to be old news. I see that there was some previous controversy over who is or isn't "featured" in the song due to inconsistent listings at streaming services. But just look at the cover art, which lists all three musicians equally. That nails the coffin shut and there's not much reason for further argument. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 14:03, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
The cover art is not a reliable source, and the coffin is certainly not nailed shut. 162 etc. (talk) 18:52, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes it is, because a record company would have to be incredibly incompetent to put the wrong artist names on the cover. Or at least it's more reliable than a two-bit streaming entry with info typed in by someone. Is this an unreliable source on who the band is? ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:10, 7 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Paint It Black is a pretty famous example of an album cover that got it wrong. Or perhaps we should move Ye (album) to I Hate Being Bi-Polar It's Awesome. See WP:SOURCES 162 etc. (talk) 15:21, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Nice try, but those are examples in which the title is questionable, not the musician. The cover of "Paint It Black" does not lead me to question whether the Rolling Stones recorded the song, nor do I need the New York Times to tell me so. Oh well, keep this going if you enjoy pointless arguments for purposes of procedure worship. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 16:16, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is clearly controversial, RM opened. – MaterialWorks 16:31, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@MaterialWorks: please don't open an RM unless you support the move. This was rejected above. If someone who actually supports the move wants to open one, and make the case, that's their prerogative and they should be the ones to do it.  — Amakuru (talk) 16:41, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Disagree. User:2607:FB91:991:E51A:3D14:B100:191F:CE30 is obviously in favour of this move, so let's discuss it. 162 etc. (talk) 18:20, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well fine, we are where we are, anyway. The point is in general it's up to those who favour the move to open an RM if they decide they wish to do so. If a request at RM/TR is opposed and then never revisited by the original proposer after a few days have ellapsed, then we usually consider it dead on the ground. Cheers  — Amakuru (talk) 20:04, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Unless the OP has specified "discuss=no" in the original request, we must assume that he/she is in favour of a discussion. Such a request should never be removed from WP:RMT without opening an RM. See Template:RMassist. 162 etc. (talk) 21:21, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
