Name change suggestion
editPopular referendum is not a very common term throughout the world. I think we should Ballotpedia's term "Veto referendum" (https://ballotpedia.org/Veto_referendum) Ballotpedia is the number one private website dedicated only to elections in the world.--Wyn.junior (talk) 18:14, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
- The term Veto referendum only concern referendum against a law voted in parliament, while popular referendum is for referendum triggered by the population on both this as well as a law proposed by the citizens. Some popular referendum are veto referendum, but not all veto referendum are popular referendum. Given that the article seem to be mainly about the veto referendum, I agree with the name change. --Aréat (talk) 20:31, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
- Proposed laws by citizens are initiatives, not popular referendums. Repealing laws are popular referendums.--Wyn.junior (talk) 17:38, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
