Strip/Drome
editWas "Seven Mile Drome" also known as "Seven Mile Strip"? If so, Lyndon B. Johnson saw his only combat action in WWII in a Martin B-26 Marauder "Heckling Hare" that passed through Seven Mile Strip on its way to bomb a Japanese airbase at Lae in New Guinea. He was an observer on board the aircraft on June 9th 1942: it came under enemy fire which disabled one engine.Thomas Peardew (talk) 20:41, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
