Lack of references

edit

Currently, there are only 2 citations utilized for the article. One is written in a surgical journal on management and the other places PVT in the context as being a complication of splenectomy (and is from a journal >12 years old without giving DOI information or embedded hyperlink). The etiologies don’t give a sense of frequency of each cause (i.e. degree to which it contributes to PVT). In addition, neither of these journals are open-access (the >$30 price tag for each limits further examination of source content). I have identified several sources (reputable academic books and medical guidelines) that seem sound at first glance. Based on the content therein, I'll make edits that the literature reaches consensus on. In addition, based on ability to verify information, certain sections may be added to maintain consistency with other Wikipedia articles on Medicine. ALL of the already-existing sections need more detail. The 2 images currently included are CT scans. A figure representing the anatomy may be more helpful for the average reader.
