CEO
editErrald Miller was CEO of Cable and Wireless Jamaica Ltd, not the parent company Cable and Wireless PLC. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.27.31.36 (talk • contribs) .
Why Semi-Protected?
editAccording to the history, there's only one version, so I'm pretty sure the history's wrong. But what exactly did they do? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Darkhooda (talk • contribs) .
Does She Support A Republic ?
editAs the previous PM did whats her stance ?
- Yes she does. She has announced the creation of the Republic of Jamaica. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-16449969 OldSquiffyBat (talk) 21:02, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Not "creation". Intention of creation... СЛУЖБА (talk) 03:02, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
First opponent to attend swearing-in ceremony
editPortia Simpson-Miller is the first defeated Prime minister of Jamaica to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Incumbent (Bruce Golding). Other party-leading former Prime Ministers were invited to their counterparts' swearing-in, but none attended. Hugh Shearer attended PJ Patterson's ceremony when he defeated Edward Seaga and Patterson attended Golding's swearing-in following his victory over Simpson-Miller.200.7.33.230 01:47, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

editI've removed all the external links except those biographies hosted on the government's website. I place them here for ease of reference: they may well contain material that is of use to incorporate into the article:

Foreign policy?
editIs her position regarding the introduction of a republic in Jamaica really to be classified as "foreign policy"? That concerns Jamaica and it's government system more than it's relations to GB I'd say.--Severino (talk) 11:19, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Nope--I've changed it. Looking at Jamaica's constitution in terms of 'what does it mean for Britain' is a rather sad example of Wikipedia's biases. (Incidentally, so is the fact that the only two policy positions we've noticed are the western hobby-horses of the queen and gay rights (not that gay rights aren't fine and dandy, but there are issues of more pressing concern to the average Jamaican).
