Many changes needed on this page

The information on this page is extremely outdated and inaccurate. Here are some suggested edits:

The organization manages seven farmers markets, in different locations around Portland, on different days, and at different times. The first three paragraphs allude to the organization only managing one large market.

The article claims there is a waiting list to become a vendor, but there is no such thing. The market managers choose vendors who meet each market's specific needs, not who happens to be next in line.

All citations in the article are very old- most are from 2007. I would suggest removing these citations and adding the following: The flagship market at Portland State University was named the best farmers market in the United States for its size, varied offerings, live entertainment, weekly cooking demos, and more, by Bravo TV.[1] The same market was ranked #2 in the country for its number of vendors, amount of local, seasonal produce, year-round live music, the market managers' consideration of every detail, and making the most of what the region has to offer by supporting local farmers, by The Daily Meal.[2]

Another citation I would suggest: Portland Farmers Market was established in 1992 and held its first market in the parking lot of Alber's Mill along the Willamette River that year. This allowed Portlanders, who once had to settle for markets in the suburbs or traveling to the farms themselves, easier access to farm fresh produce.[3] . In 2016, Portland Farmers Market celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The article mentions the "Summer Loaf" festival. This is an extremely old program that has been inactive for many years. I would suggest adding current programming to the article, such as the Kids Cook at the Market and Chef in the Market programs.

The "Locations" section is 100% inaccurate. The organization no longer hosts a market at the Ecotrust Building, and there is no winter market with 45 vendors. The market on Saturdays is a year-round market, so that market does go into the winter.

I would suggest either taking out specifics on the King market (the dates and number of vendors are inaccurate), or adding more detailed information on the other 6 markets.

Here is what I suggest for the locations section: Portland Farmers Market operates seven markets throughout the city. Locations include three downtown markets, at Portland State University on Saturdays, Shemanski Park on Wednesdays, and Pioneer Courthouse Square on Mondays. The four neighborhood markets are King and Lents International, both on Sundays, Kenton on Wednesdays, and Northwest on Thursdays. The administrative office is located at 240 N Broadway, Suite 129.
