An article about an artwork needs a photo of the work. Surely, we can obtain a photo of a 1903 painting.--Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 22:00, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Picasso died on 8th April 1962, which was 62 years, 199 days ago. The Berne Copyright Convention will protect it until 50 years after the artist's death, that is 8th April 2012. The EU Directive on harmonising the term of copyright protection might protect it for another 20 years. If you wish, you can ask on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions for clarification of when it will enter the public domain. CS Miller (talk) 12:06, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Having said that, a low-resolution photograph, say from the last sale catalogue, might be eligible under wp:fair use. The template {{reqphoto}} will bring this to the attention of the appropriate people. CS Miller (talk) 12:13, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
