The only net references I've found for a "Poussin" circa 1898 are at:
http://www-history.mcs.st-andrews.ac.uk/history/Biographies/Vallee_Poussin.html and the obituary at http://www.numbertheory.org/obituaries/LMS/de_la_vallee_poussin/ , neither of which supports this result. Think we've got a mathematical myth? — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 00:54, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- MathWorld cites it as
- de la Vallée Poussin, C.-J. Untitled communication. Annales de la Soc. Sci. Bruxelles 22, 84-90, 1898.
