Carrie Bradshaw powerbook
editUntitled
editCarrie Bradshaw identifies her g3 powerbook as her '98, in episode 56, "My Motherboard, My Self" the only powerbook on sale with 14.1 inch monitor in 1998 was the Walstreet. According to everymac, the PDQ was in production in 1998 and the Lombard wasn't released until September 1st, three months after the first episode aired.[1] How can she possibly be using a computer made in the future? Never the less, images later on in the show clearly show the white Apple logo at the top, which appeared first on the bronze keyboard. The only possible conclusion is that the laptop was replaced. Lombard Memory?
edit67.97.244.18 20:11, 9 August 2007 (UTC) I am not sure that the comment about needing two equal memory sticks to run 10.3 on a Lombard is correct. My machine runs 10.3 with 192MB of RAM.
- Then update it.Pdbailey 00:32, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Data Bus Width Never Mentioned
editJust to remind you guys, I didn't see a mention of the data bus width.. Note that the 6100 is about 64-bit.. Is that the same here.. Even at 66Mhz that is enough to handle video editing, theoretically.
Also the PowerPC's are RISC processors that were designed to do Intel emulation, that was the reason for the jump to the powerpc's was the virtual machine emulation capabilities.. I guess it never really flew.. I'm a non-mac user.. I've got an ancient, I'm going to use it to read mac floppies or just for melancholy, I have an Amiga 3000 too.. But don't worry about me, I have a Pentium D 2.8Ghz with a Nvidia 9800 that I play games like Fallout 3 and Bioshock on.. I just like playing around with computers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.123.24.75 (talk) 21:04, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
PowerBook G3 Processor Upgrades
editThe statement that processor upgrades for the PowerBook 2000 Pismo are no longer being manufactured is incorrect. Daystar Engineering, FastMac, and Wegener Media all currently offer 550 MHz G4 porcessor upgrades for the Pismo PowerBook —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.164.4.48 (talk) 03:36, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Corrected Upgrades
editThe 1 GHz G3 upgrade was scratched before release due to power/heat dissipation concerns. Corrected the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.196.53 (talk) 10:25, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
