This article includes the redirect from "stampless cover", so post-adhesive and even modern stampless covers could be legitimate illustrations for this. "Pre-adhesive mail" is a confusing title; apparently it's short for "Pre-adhesive-stamp mail." That's more accurate, but a lousy title. "Lettersheet" technically would only seem to apply where a sheet (either with a letter or a blank cover sheet) is folded to then pass through the mail, and might not include actual envelopes. In any event, that term primarily applies to printed postal stationery. "Stampless cover" might be a better title and could include all the material from the 15th century (with or without postal markings) up to the issuance of adhesive stamps and beyond, such as Mexico's sellos negros, Confederate stampless covers and congressional frankings.
