definition of precious metal is not well-defined
I get the feeling that the given definition here is really "bad-defined", because "high economical value" is very elastic. Considering only these metallic elements which price is currently higher than Silver, then there are dozends of elements qualifying as "precious metalls". I doubt this should be so, or? - You are right, in a way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.163.70.23 (talk) 15:47, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
- Until reading this article, I've only ever seen gold, silver, and platinum described as precious metals. On searching a bit further, I see that palladium is also sometimes so described. These four are not only rare and expensive, but are used in jewellery and other decorative items. I doubt that any of the others are commonly used for these purposes.109.150.156.168 (talk) 23:01, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
