Redirect? Comparison?

Should this be a redirect, or should it be a comparison of the final prediction and the election? Or it could be worked into a new page discussing the accuracy of (final) political predictions. It does capture useful information about the state of the last predictions, which may not be easily available later. jesup 11:52, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

The redirect essentially deleted the article. I don't agree with that, and I've reverted it, as well as copyediting the article (particularly tenses of verbs). The article is valuable for a lot of reasons; if nothing else, it will be a model for the 2008 article on the same subject. Evaluating the accuracy of the predictions is a bit tricky, since it could be seen as edging into WP:OR. It might be best to see if there is any commentary out there that meets WP:RS, and add that to the article if it is found; otherwise, a comparison could be left as an exercise for the reader. (Although there would be nothing wrong with, say, color-coding the predictions for individual races as to whether they were correct or incorrect, and that could be quite informative.) I think this article is of excellent historical value. If nothing else, it can show us what the mood of the chattering classes were prior to the election. This is important for context, because these folks generally feel free to make these predictions since no one remembers them 2 weeks later. Even if they were very wrong. Therefore, I think this article needs to be preserved and this practice should be continued for all following elections. --RedShiftPA (talk) 03:41, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I've moved the polling map from United States House elections, 2006 to here, where it belong, if it belongs anywhere. There is some discussion of the quality of the map at Talk:United States House elections, 2006#Exit Poll table in the wrong page entirely, and at the section of the talk page immediately below it. Deleation

This article has been here for years. It deserves to stay. No one had a problem with this piece of information being in the main United States House of Representatives elections, 2008 article. It's fully relevent. In addition, I created this specific page because the main page was becoming too big and was taking a long time to load.--Jerzeykydd (talk) 22:38, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
