"There are 100 préfectures in France, one for each département." There are actually 96 départements in France, not 100. Dick Kimball (talk) 21:03, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, it is 100: 96 départements in metropolitan France and 4 overseas départements. (There will be 101 beginning in 2011 with the addition of Mayotte.) Charvex (talk) 09:56, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
