let's not turn this into another "Armenians are more ancient than your mum" pissing contest please. "Racial origins" of Armenians belong discussed on Origin of the Armenians. This article should simply address the archaeology of the general area of the Armenian Highland. dab(đł)08:26, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, why not? a Prehistoric Armenia page would have been good and the History of Armenia website had the context, and it is Public Domain so it is free to use here as far as I know. --Vonones08:42, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
any evidence that the English translation is in the public domain? If it is, it can be used, but you cannot just copy it here. Unlike the "History of Armenia website", Wikipedia is bound to policies such as WP:NPOV, WP:ATT and guidelines such as WP:TONE. dab(đł)10:19, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
The text, actually taken here from the 1964 reprinting, is in the public domain since the 1958 copyright was not renewed at the appropriate time (1985â1986), and the work has therefore fallen into the public domain.[1] --Vonones10:23, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I edited the first phrases, since the Georgians have the oldest known culture in the whole region, if not the very oldest of the world, dating around 1.8-2.0 million BC. Besides that Colchis did allready exist as governmental monarchy 6-8.000 BC and produced wine 5.000 BC.
The web page cited above is dated 2005, before the current edition. It looks as though he was mistaken. I'm deleting the text copied from the book - if anyone can show clear proof that it is not copyright let me know. Dougweller (talk) 13:29, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
