Shining bright work request

edit

If anyone would like to polish things up a bit before this goes to article space... I can think of Austronesier — Sirfurboy — Joe Roe — Ario1234 — पाटलिपुत्र — Firefangledfeathers:  Tewdar  12:55, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Or even just tell me which parts you think are crap and I'll change/delete them...  Tewdar  13:14, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Made a few minor fixes but this is an excellent page. Compared to the usual um... micro-works that come out of draft, this one is exemplary! You have two tags for sections that could use expansion. I am not sure you need those. You say enough there, and at most I might just expand the existing sentences (e.g. saying there is one example of multiple inhumation burial - you could say where, at least). A stylistic thing that is not an error, but I'll mention, is that you have multiple citations for many sentences. In some cases they make sense because each is to a different example that supports your point, but in general one citation should be enough. Just worth bearing WP:OVERKILL in mind. I didn't want to take any of them out though. I'm happy to take a closer look at any part you want me to. Bronze Age quarrying and metalworking, for instance, but really I think you have it very well covered. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 14:19, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. The multiple citations are either (1) required, because I've taken bits of descriptions from multiple sources but don't want to write stuff like "round buildings[1] made from wood[2] with a conical roof[3]" or whatever, or else (2) not required, perhaps because I dumped it in from Cornish Bronze Age, trimmed it, and haven't checked which ones I don't need anymore. But I'll try and get round to fixing that. Feel free to tinker with anything you like, some of the prose could probably use some polishing... the lead's a bit shoddy... etc. 😊  Tewdar  14:43, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Since I have been asked, I'll gladly fiddle with it. But the article already looks amazing and monumental. Great job. –Austronesier (talk) 21:03, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. It could definitely still be improved, but I'm glad it's in article space at last.  Tewdar  21:59, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hopefully all the sections will have maps one day 😁  Tewdar  22:01, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Low importance?

edit

Really? If Prehistoric Wales is high importance (to Wikiprojects Wales, Archaeology , and History) and History of Cornwall is high (to Wikiproject Cornwall) and mid (to Wikiproject History), surely it should be at least 'mid' for Wikiproject Cornwall anyway. I'd change it myself but it might look I am somehow biased, since I wrote most of the article, my username uses the Cornish colours, and there's a big Cornish flag on my userpage. 😁  Tewdar  20:23, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Excellent article, that was some work Tewdar. Hopefully you could protect it to keep vandals from adding in Engerland everywhere. What is their problem, some kind of pathological hatred one presumes. Chons da sos 85.94.248.27 (talk) 10:02, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
No one has a 'pathological hatred' here, we just represent a neutral point of view ((If you want to truly see what a "pathological hatred" looks like, ask the average Cornish nationalist what they think of Devon)). Generally speaking, most of prehistoric Cornwall has little to do with modern Cornwall. No Celts, no Cornish language. nada. Same with England. And the fact that Cornwall is considered to be a part of England is contentious to some for sure - but very much a reality. --SinoDevonian (talk) 22:15, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
