Prehistoric Women → Prehistoric women (disambiguation) – Women in prehistory was recently published and we need this domain for a redirect, lowercase would also make sense since we have an actual main topic now. - Oppose per WP:DIFFCAPS, the lower case Prehistoric women already points to the generic meaning but someone capitalizing is probably looking for the films. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:41, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- That doesn't address why Prehistoric women (disambiguation) shouldn't treat Women in prehistory as the main topic though, it's a generic concept that happens to be the namesake of only two other articles. Are the films really that significant if they only cover two thirds of what the lowercase DA might refer to? There's nowhere else for Prehistoric women (disambiguation) to go to but here. - Its already treated as primary for "Prehistoric women" (lower case) but there doesn't seem to be a case for it to treat "Prehistoric Women" (upper case) as primary. See the Friendly Fire example at WP:DIFFCAPS. It matters in terms of primary topic because usage and long-term significance changes significantly with capitalization. This is because as I mentioned readers are far more likely to capitalize the 2nd word if looking for a proper noun than if not and sources will always refer to the films in title case unlike the generic concept. When the name is a single work like Shetland v Shetland (TV series) or Cars v Cars (film) then we normally treat the generic topic as primary but its different with 2 word terms. I would also add WP:DABNAME to my reason for opposition given that the lower case already is a primary redirect but the 2 films are proper nouns it would probably make more sense to keep the DAB at the title case version. - OK so this page can redirect to the DAB but it still doesn't make sense for Prehistoric women (disambiguation) to not be the target instead, women in prehistory already has a hatnote for the lowercase title, why would people follow a lowercase link if they do not expect the lowercase spelling to be the main topic? Orchastrattor (talk) 19:35, 25 December 2023 (UTC)
- You could change the hatnote from Women in prehistory to point to Prehistoric Women (disambiguation) rather than Prehistoric women (disambiguation). Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:13, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
- Done, Request withdrawn. Orchastrattor (talk) 00:52, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
