Isn't this called "President's Guard Regiment"? I've seen that particular name used in newspapers and othe media. For example, [1], [2]. --Ragib (talk) 22:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you note the sources given in Bangladeshi intelligence community, they cite "Presidential Security Force." I suppose we can just give both names. Vishnava(talk) 22:53, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think the official name is "President's Guard Regiment" (PGR) [3]. There is also another elite force titled "Special Security Force" (SSF), which is given the task of protecting the VIPs [4]. I assume the sources you mention were referring to the force's purpose rather than it's official name. --Ragib (talk) 23:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- This is the source. Now it dates to 1988, and it notes that it was designed by Ershad - now the presidency isn't executive anymore, so it is entirely likely that the force has been renamed and reorganized. Vishnava(talk) 23:48, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- In any case, the official name as used by the Army and media in Bangladesh takes precedence of the factoid from 1988. I can't verify the name of the organization in 1988, and whether it has been renamed since then. --Ragib (talk) 03:26, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
