Unofficial list

edit

What is the President_of_Indonesia#Unofficial_list? Were these people actually president or not? I don't understand - please explain. AndrewRT(Talk) 23:47, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't know where the expressions "official" and "unoficial" list came from. Syarifuddin Prawiranegara was the acting president of the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia, established in Sumatra in December 1948 on orders from Sukarno after he and most of the government were captured by the Dutch, who were fighting to regain control of their former colony. In July 1949, Sukarno was freed and became president again. In December 1949, the Republic of Indonesia became one of 16 member states in a federal United States of Indonesia (RIS). Sukarno became president of the RIS, so Assaat became acting president of the Republic of Indonesia until the RIS was dissolved in August 1950 and the unitary (and current) Republic of Indonesia was reestablished, whereupon Sukarno became president of it. I'm not happy with the "official" and "unofficial" lists as it is not clear who or what makes them so. This makes the distinction uncited at best and WP:OR at worst. Perhaps footnotes and/or parentheses would be clearer... Davidelit (talk) 07:36, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
I had a go at cleaning it up - i don't know if I got it right though. --Merbabu (talk) 08:39, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Presidential Seal?

edit

I need help working on the insignia of the president of indonesia. I'm thinking maybe using the presidential seal (those on headers of lembar negaras) or the presidential medal (worn by them in left chest on formal pics). For both, I couldn't find any pics on the net with adequate resolution for me to reproduce. Need help on this part.

Just finished a bunch of high res insignias for other RI government branches. On my list are: DPR (svg, png), DPD (svg, png), the supreme court (svg, png), BPK (svg, png). All are in commons now.

Hi. I have just taken a photo of the presidential seal from my copy of 30 Tahun Indononesia Merdeka. The quality looks fine. I have e-mail enabled on my account, so click on "E-mail this user" and I'll send you the photo by return. Regards Davidelit (talk) 14:49, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Age?

edit

It says that the candidate must be at least 30 years old however the President must be at least 35 years old. This seems rather, shall we say, incongruous? Neils51 (talk) 03:11, 25 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The 30-years-old requirement was applicable under the Provisional Constitution of 1950, which was in force from 1950 - 1959. The amended 1945 Constitution now in force states that requirements for candidacy are laid down in law, and the law in question is No. 42/2008 which specifies the 35-years-old requirement for candidacy. Thanks Davidelit. The override seems obvious now I reread it, however I may think about putting in an explanatory note or similar.

Presidential Flag?

edit

Refer to this edit, where IP editor remove presidential flag. At glance, it may seems just another WP:VANDAL edit. But we really look out for Presidential Flag of Indonesia, this flag is only used during soekarno era. Even if used on the present day, this flag only be found on something/somewhere related to Soekarno (for example Grave of Sukarno, Universitas Bung Karno, and Istana Batu Tulis). Even the article itself also state that the flag is used on Soekarno era. So, I don't think it's unreasonable to remove that flag from the Infobox as it's no longer used by any president after Soekarno. Ckfasdf (talk) 13:39, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism

edit

@Jethski05 @Ckfasdf @Davidelit It seems that this article is being vandalized by a nameless user without account (155.69.181.13). They often replaced Jokowi's portrait with Anies Baswedan's portrait. They might be Anies Baswedan's supporter in the 2024 election. RyanW1995 (talk) 12:39, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
