In the section on gauged pressure, the article states that if the pressure on the tire gauge reads as zero, the pressure inside is really 14.something psi. I believe that this is an oversimplification. Firstly- there is no account for change in altitude/ pressure. There is no way to be sure that the pressure would be the specific number specified. The example also does not take into account pressures in the negative, which would register as zero on a tire gauge. This is entirely possible with variance of temperature and the stiffness of tire walls.
