Small edit

edit

I changed the bit about Wren not being talked about. He hasn't shown back up in the series yet, but people still talk about him on occasion. It's mostly through either Spencer's shrink or by people who want to bring up Spencer's habit of taking Melissa's boyfriends.

As far as Ali getting dragged into a ditch by Spencer, I don't really remember that part. I remember her pushing Ali after a fight over Ian & Ali cracking her head open, but I don't recall the dragging into a ditch thing. I've only read through the 3rd book, but I recall the scene being Spencer dimly recalling the incident only up until the point that Ali fell & cracked her head open. Even then we can't say that anything that Spencer recalls is concrete due to her blackouts. It could be Spencer recalling things the way she wants them to. Ali's Killer

edit

Is there anyone else who thinks that Officer Wilden killed Ali? I mean, wasn't someone thinking it was funny that Ian, the polite boy turned out to be the murderer while Darren Wilden, the rough guy, turned out to be the police officer? And he wasn't worried when he had to arrest Ian, but he was in a right frenzy when Ian was let out to see his mum, wasn't he? It's weird, if you ask me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by O&E fan (talkcontribs) 20:19, 4 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The [http://www.prettylittleliarsss.webs.com/ site] repeatedly added by anonymous IPs here, here, here, and here appears to be some kind of blog that is not managed by the author or publisher, or an accepted "expert." This makes it a "fansite," which are inappropriate external links per WP:FANSITE (#10). I have warned the offending editors, and will pursue blocks should these disruptions continue.— TAnthonyTalk 19:38, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Needed improvements

edit

This article needs the following improvements:

  • Novel descriptions: A brief plot summary (one small paragraph) of each novel would be helpful; obviously the "Who is A?" storyline stretches across several books, but presumably each novel has certain self-enclosed plotlines. Remember, this should be original writing, not copied from another website or book jacket.
  • Character descriptions: These should be basic character overviews, not necessarily a summary of each character's entire plotline. The "main" characters seem to be of an acceptable length (short), but many of the supporting characters do not need a couple of sentences covering their storylines. A few words identifying who they are in relation to everyone else is enough. All entries also need some context within the series. For example: "Introduced in Flawless, Ashley initially falls in love with Keith, but after he leaves town in Unbelievable, she meets Tristan in Wicked."
  • Real-world context and references: As with any article, this one needs more real-world information about the novels; that is, things like how the series came into being, sales trends, reviews and criticism, and discussion of its popularity (with sources). I imagine that many reputable magazines, newspapers, and websites have covered these novels since the inception of the series.

Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 16:45, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

someone needs to change the title of this article because im constructing the wiki page for the first book in this series, named Pretty Little Liars, ad this page for the entire series.MissBobLoblaw (talk) 14:26, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I think your individual article is redundant; in any case, this article should stay the same (it's what the series is called) and hatnotes can be added for navigation between articles.— TAnthonyTalk 21:09, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Today's Move

edit

I moved this article from Pretty Little Liars to its new home at Pretty Little Liars (book series) to avoid confusion between the book series and the now popular TV series. -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 16:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your move/disambiguation is unnecessary, as Pretty Little Liars still redirects here, and a hatnote would take care of any confusion with the TV series.— TAnthonyTalk 04:58, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reception notability

edit

I had to remove some comment about a reviewer on amazon due to non-notability. I searched on the page for a review by a Jennifer Hubert & none existed. I did a search for the name & the only reviewer that popped up was for someone who had only done a handful of reviews. It just isn't notable & kind of sounds like someone trying to get noticed. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 07:00, 16 September 2010 (UTC)tokyogirl79Reply

The review is definitely there, and it is actually copied on other sites (not sure who had it first). Hubert is the author of Reading Rants: Guide to Books That Rock!, a guide to teen literature, making her more of an expert in the genre than I've seen cited around here.— TAnthonyTalk 16:49, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Models vs. Actresses

edit

Because this is the wikipedia page for the book and not the television show, can you please add a section that includes the names of the models who played the characters for the book series? Before the television show aired, there was a big debate over the models not being used in the television series and the actresses looking nothing like the models. It would be appropriate to add this information.

Spencer Hastings - Alexandra Bowen Aria Montgomery - Olga Alexandrovskaia Hanna Marin - Sarah Dewey Lovell Emily Fields - Erin McQuatters

This information is available on many websites. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by SarLovell85 (talkcontribs) 00:20, 15 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Individual book spinoffs

edit
Previous discussion: WP:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive701#Large number of aparrent copy-paste page moves; possible copyright concerns

The spinoffs by User:Looc9 appear to have started as unattributed copies from this revision of Pretty Little Liars. I can fix the attribution with dummy edits and {{Copied}}s if there's anything worth merging back, but it would be easier and cleaner to speedy delete as G12 and recreate the redirects if desired. I am (re)starting the discussion here to identify the appropriate action.

Previous versions with "(novel)" suffixes have been redirected. Pretty Little Liars (novel) was kept at AfD but later redirected, and Flawless (novel) (AfD) and Perfect (novel) (AfD) were merged at AfD. Flatscan (talk) 04:25, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Flawed

edit

Some of the 'writing' is atrocious. The paragraph about Flawless has unfinished sentence fragments that make it incomprehensible and impossible for anyone to correct. If you're serious about your article, kindly make it encyclopedic… and readable.

Thank you. --UnicornTapestry (talk) 00:55, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Not to mention that it mentions the girls finding Ian's body twice in the books. Like, 4 books apart. Once in the forest, then again in the house at the end. 99.162.156.77 (talk) 04:27, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's because they did find Ian's body twice - once in the woods (it disappeared shortly thereafter), and the final time in the DiLaurentis' Poconos house, decomposing. Calgrl113 (talk) 22:49, 10 June 2011 (UTC) 13Reply

Please add the word "disorder" to complete the phrase "eating disorder" in line 4 under the "Heartless" article. Remove non-neutral tone from "Wicked", specifically line 4 (possibly informative, but should be changed from question format) and the double use of ellipsis from the end of the article. SevenSevenOne (talk) 00:28, 15 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done Heartless grammar problem fixed; I did my best to fix "Wicked", although I haven't actually read the book. If someone could point out what happens after the ellipses, we can complete the story--note that Wikipedia summaries of books should include the full story, not leaving out the event for worry of "spoiling" it. Heartless

After the fires, the girls insist that they saw Ali. Later the police make them believe it was all a ghost due to the fire. "A" sends Emily to an Amish community, where she discovers that one of the girls named Leah disappeared around the time that Ali rose from the dead. Emily also discovers that Darren Wilden had been an Amish person and left the community, and she soon comes to believe that he killed Leah. Hanna's father sends her to a clinic to prevent her eating disorder from reappearing due to stress from the situation with Ali, and to cure her Posttraumatic stress disorder. Hanna befriends another patient named Iris, her roommate, who later abandons her after another patient reveals Hanna's scandalous past to everyone at the clinic.[15] While Hanna was in the clinic, there was a painting on Iris' wall of a blonde girl with bright blue eyes accompanied by a heart shape face. Anyone would recognize this face a million miles away as the infamous face of Ali. Iris explains this was her former roommate.

ON THE LAST SENTENCE ABOVE, THE WORD RECOGNIZE WAS MISSPELLED AND IN THE ARTICLE WAS SPELLED AS REGONIZE!!!!

to be more clear you should say that in the books the police find alison's body 3 years after she disapears and in the tv show they find the body 1 year later.

Article Clean-Up

Merger discussion

edit

The page Pretty Little Liars (book) has a proposal for merger to this article. That seems to be consistent with the other mergers within the series. FeatherPluma (talk) 20:59, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I see no reason why Pretty Little Liars (book) should not be merged. Having a separate page for that book seems silly and redundant. Majesdane (talk) 12:32, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Article Formatting

The previous format to the article was lengthy and cumbersome. It has since been cleaned up and reformatted in a way that presents the information in a more clear and concise way. Majesdane (talk) 21:01, 31 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
