Removing dubious POV statement
editI'm taking out the statement
- As Type 2 diabetes is caused by chronic over consumption of carbohydrate rich food - triggering insulin resistance in non-lipid cells - the risk of developing the disorder is most obviously reduced by significant reduction of carbohydrate and elimination of sugars in the diet.
This was put in by an IP with no other edits on 18 May 2011 with no edit summary and no citation. This is at best a non-mainstream view, and at worst just wild speculation. It is not borne out by the articles diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and insulin resistance, the latter of which says, correctly I believe,
- It should be pointed out that virtually all evidence of deleterious effects of simple sugars so far is limited to their concentrated formulations and sweetened beverages.
Following sentence needs attention as it is unclear
editThere is a sentence in the article - "There is evidence relating consumption of coffee with prevention of type 2 diabetes. However, it is unclear if coffee causes any change in the risk of diabetes." As this is confusing, it requires attention. Thanks. -- Abhijeet Safai (talk) 06:47, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
