Move?
editShould this page be moved to Primate of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia? See Talk:Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. — Gareth Hughes 14:06, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
None of the sources mention an "Archbishop of New Zealand"
editWho exactly is the metropolitan of "Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia"? I get having three tikanga whose heads are given the rank of archbishop (is this the same as "archbishop ad personam"?) but current use of the actual title "Archbishop of New Zealand" is not in any of the sources linked to at the end of the article!
My (possibly incorrect) understanding after reading the article suggests
- that the heads of the three tikanga are given the personal rank "archbishop" and titled "Co-Presiding Bishop"
- one of them is chosen to lead the province (that is, become the metropolitan of) "Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia"
- that metropolitan archbishop carries the title of primate.
(I too am exhausted at having to think of fiddly stuff like this)
Also I support moving this page to a different title, or merging it with the main page at Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia (since in the NZ Anglican church context the "primate" mentioned in this article is the head of that body). 118.90.109.178 (talk) 03:11, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
