Two major problems
editI just wrote a page on Andriamihaja and I now have two concerns about this list, one of them unfortunately very deep:
- Andriamihaja was dead by 1831, so he cannot have held office until 1833. To fix that I would like a consensus on what happened between 1831 and 1833: did Rainiharo take over immediately?
- Much more concerningly, several sources give the names of one or two prime ministers before Andriamihaja, and say that Ranavalona I gave Andriamihaja a position that was already held by Andrianamba. Based on what source do we give Andriamihaja as the first prime minister of Madagascar? The somewhat unfortunate thing is that this would affect the entire ordering of this list, including the given order "nth prime minister of Madagascar" on the page of every prime minister of Madagascar. But that's also a plus, because if anyone can find a source confirming the "number" of any subsequent PM (for example, referring to Roger Kolo as the "25th prime minister of Madagascar"), that's indirect evidence that this page is right. Such a reference has so far eluded me though, even in French.
I could follow some of these problems to the French page, but their sourcing is just as bad as ours. - Astrophobe (talk) 21:42, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- We can get a bit of help by looking at the Ranavalona I which is an FA and has excellent citations overall, but the relevant section of the page doesn't seem to conclusively show that Andriamihaja was definitely her first prime minister. And they give his death as 1830 (in contrast to the sources at Andriamihaja which give it as 1831), so more support for him not having been prime minister through 1833. - Astrophobe (talk) 21:51, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
