Cave Story 3D

edit
  • From my own experience with Cave Story 3D you do not get to play as a Prinny, you instead get to wear a Prinny Cap, like what Fuuka wears. I think that this needs to be corrected. 60.231.65.171 (talk) 06:54, 24 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Wait, merge again?

edit
  • Oppose This just got out of AfD with a result of Keep, and the AfD spawned in the first place because the merge was contested (mind you the original merge discussion resulted in opposition for the prinnies themselves, though an agreement as far as other characters went). Now you're proposing we merge anyway? That seems to be a failure in the logic department.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 23:59, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose merge for now. This just survived AfD and now is targeted for removal again? Seems like gaming the system and disruptive. -- Banjeboi 16:58, 3 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose It was said during the AFD that more sources would be needed, and some participants expressed disatisfaction with its current state, hoping for further information and sources to be added after the new game is released. That was understood loud and clear, the intention is to add that information or discuss it further should said cites fail to materialize. Why is it so important to ignore that completely and rush ahead into a merge? Just let contributors work on the article, please, it isn't much to ask. Picture

edit
There's no shortage of images out there; the question is what we could use in the article under fair use. We may need to settle for a fan sketch from someone willing to license it. - ZM

This is true. I was going to add NIS's Prinny Squad Prinny art(such as this), but I'm relatively new to Wikipedia and not sure how that would work out. I'd like to also try to expand on this article further once I complete Disgaea. --Frid 19:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, it totally slipped my mind, but I could photograph my Prinny plush, and that could be used for a picture for the time being, perhaps later being merged into a "Merchandise" section. --Frid 19:15, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Here's a pretty good one: http://c-uncut.com/media/dis-prinny1.jpg 82.33.196.54 01:41, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Judging from the fact that it redirects me to the main page when I click on the link, I would tend to suspect that they are not keen on sharing their imagery with the world. :) Kickaha Ota 04:43, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Article Existence

edit
  • In "Disgaea:Hour of Darkness" a minor sub-plot involved the true nature of the prinnies, culminating in 'Episode 8, Reincarnation'. Furthermore, the Prinny has been a playable (although often hidden or locked) character in the four follow-up games "La Pucelle Tactics"(unconfirmed), "Phantom Brave", "Makai Kingdom", and "Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories." The information gleaned from Disgaea was not repeated in the later games, making many of the Prinnies' remarks nonsensical. Furthermore, Disgaea sold completely out of three print runs and is out of print at the time of this writing, and is difficult to aquire, so players new to the series have no way to discover this information directly and must seek other sources. The backstory for Prinnies therefore should be made available.
The Prinny entry is best kept segregated from the other Nippon Ichi pages for several reasons. The backstory is a spoiler for Disgaea, the Prinny plotlines have always been largely unimportant to the core game and shouldn't clutter the main entry, and they persist across a number of titles.

Fair use rationale for Image:Disgaea Bigsis.png

edit

Image:Disgaea Bigsis.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This article's fate

edit

So are there any other potential sources or is this it? The PSP game is unlikely to lead to any non-trivial reception outside of the actual game, so I don't think that'll lead to anything. The current information is mainly trivial or it can fit easily in the series article, which definitely needs some work. TTN (talk) 20:48, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Don't be so cynical TTN. The reviews can just as easily discuss the prinnies as they might not, and if they do that's easily citable reception info. As it stands these guys do have more feedback going for them than the other characters, so saying to be patient is hardly out of line given there's plenty elsewhere to nix that deserves it more.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 20:52, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I just find it annoying when people prefer to work on minor topics while the main topic(s) is still in bad shape. These kinds of articles really need to be merged and then properly split out of full articles. The information from reviews on the games may be easily citable, but what kind of context will comments possibly ranging from "The prinnies provide a alluring charm" to "the prinnies are annoying, unlikable, Waluigi-like characters" really provide in relation to notability of this topic (rather than keeping it directly in the game article)? That really isn't notability, but rather just making something more important than it actually is in comparison to its main work. TTN (talk) 21:06, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Though I am happy to keep an open mind about the future of this article I'm getting sick and tired of this bulldozing. The AFD result was keep, the merge was rejected, none of this was done in the spirit of "bah, those deletionist pigs" or "that TTN's at it again..", instead we're trying to fix the problems. Why are you refusing to allow us the time to work on the article further? There is no deadline, and I'm not going to devote more time than I have available just to try and prevent you folding this article into another one and achieving nothing, merges don't solve problems without further editing.
